Dog hemorrhoids (piles) are very rare and can easily be confused with other conditions including impacted anal glands, rectal tumors or perianal fistulas. The first thing you need to do is have Chiku examined by your veterinarian to confirm that this is in fact what is going on. Having your vet express Chiku's anal glands is also a good idea. If the problem is indeed hemorrhoids, you can apply chilled witchhazel to the rectum followed by a small amount of petroleum jelly. I hope this helps you take care of Chiku. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. If you are cooking a home.ade diet, I would suggest visiting balanceit.com and use the free autobalancer to help you formulate an adequate homemade diet that is complete in vitamins and minerals. When cooking homemade food, it is important to remember that you will need to provide the vitamins and minerals that are normally found in commercially available dog foods. Balanceit.com has supplements you can buy online as well. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I am also available via consultation if needed.
