Why does my cat have a painful bump under her ear that twitches?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Manx | Female | spayed | 2 years and 3 months old | 11 lbs

The bump on my cat is immediately under the fold of the ear and whenever i touch it she cries in pain, it hasnt removed hair and has no obvious intrusionson on it. The size od the bump is relatively small however big enough that it isnt just a blackhead or pimple. I was wondering if you could narrow down what this could possibly be? Also her ear is constantly twitching and she wont itch the bump.

I guess it could be a little abscess. The chances that it is a small localised infection will increase if Fena is allowed outside or has contact with other cats. It could be a growth as well, however it would have not come up rapidly but rather slowly over the course of time. If you could post some pictures it would be great !
