What's the right way to give liquid medicine to my dog with a syringe?

Hi. What is the right way in giving liquid medication to a dog? I’ve been giving my puppy antibiotic and what I do is depress the syringe on his tongue when he tries it. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 25 days old
