My dog has a bump. Can I give Benadryl and wait 10 hours for vet?

Hi! I just submitted a question about my dog Daisy having this bump on her side. The expert said to take her in during normal vet hours but it didn't look like an emergency. My hubsand is wanting to give her some bendyrl...is that a good idea or okay? How much? And can I wait til I get home from work in 10 hours or need to go when they open?

I don't think Benadryl will help but it will not hurt so if you want to give some you can. Only give it once though, as you don't want to mask any signs that the vet may need to see. She can half of a 25mg tablet. If you have liquid Benadryl (12.5mg/5ml) then she can have one teaspoon. She can likely wait the 10 hours but call your vet in the morning as you may be able to drop her off with them on your way to work. That way they can get her treated and you can pick her up later in the day after work.
