My rabbit has eye pain. What can I give him before seeing a vet?

What can i give my rabbit for his eye pain, My rabit babby eye is in pain because every time I put a warm wash cloth on it he starts to grind his teeth I put a warm wash cloth on his eye because he has something red on the side of it when I asked last time that is what you told me to do until I can get him to a vet can I give him anything for the pain?

I'm sorry Baby isn't doing well! Unfortunately there is nothing you can give him OTC. Rabbits are very sensitive to medications, and giving him a human one that isn't prescribed by a vet can be fatal. I would keep putting the warm wash cloth on his eye and get him into a vet asap. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with it should be considered an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss.     Hello. Eye infections can get pretty bad very quickly, & for an animal that really depends on its sight to live, this can be critical. You can try using the over the counter Vetericyn ophthalmic gel, but please try to have Julian seen as soon as possible. He depends on you for this. Take care.
