Can fostering puppies stress my senior dog even if they're unseen?

I’m considering fostering puppies but we’re worried it might make my dog nervous, even though he would never actually see the fosters (they would be in a separate room). The thought is that although he won’t see them, he will know they’re there and not being able to see them will cause him extreme anxiety. He is pretty old, almost 13 years, and we want to make sure he is comfortable. How do you think this might affect him? Thank you so much!! Spencer should be fine as long as you continue to pat and pay attention to him. It might perk him up to have activity in the house.
