My dog threw up a little foam but seems fine. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8 years and 7 months old | 4 lbs

I came home & this was ok the floor. I'm guessing she spit it up. She is acting normally & running around. What could this be? I remember something like this happening years ago but nothing bad happened to her. It has the consistency of spit.

This looks like a small amount of foamy vomit. If Precious is behaving normally otherwise I would just monitor. You can also offer a small meal of boiled chicken and sweet potato or rice to see if this helps to calm her stomach. If she continues to vomit or other signs of illness develop like diarrhea, inappetance, or lethargy I recommend taking her to your veterinarian. Hopefully Precious just has a mild upset stomach and it will pass quickly! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
