How to keep my horse safe during a hurricane: stable or open field?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Farm Animal | Horse | Female

There's a category 5 hurricane coming to where I live. I don't know if I should leave my horse on her stable because it's made out of wood and zinc or on an open field which is surrounded by trees. What should I do ?

An open field would be safer, it depends if you are leaving your home or staying there, if you are staying you could leave her in the stables waiting for the last moment to eventually let her in fields if you judge that the stables could collapse.
