Why is my unneutered dog suddenly whining and howling at the door?

My cocker spaniel 2 year old dog, Charlie keeps on whining next to the door even after long walk, I left for work and he was howling loud.. he is not like that, he usually is settled when I leave for work, please help me with guidance. Pet's info: Dog | Cocker Spaniel | Male | unneutered | 25 lbs

By your description Charlie is not neutered? If he seems ok otherwise then I am suspicious of an in heat female in the vicinity. If this is the problem the hopefully within the next week or so he will calm down. Of course, it is never wrong to have him Seen by a veterinarian to make sure nothing else is wrong.
