Why is my bird's leg swollen, painful, and causing falls?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Female | unspayed

Hello, my bird (bulbul) is experiensing severe pain in his left foot and is falling on his back all the time with no equilibrium. His wings are loosing feathers also i think due to several fallings. I dont know if it is gout or bumble foot. His leg is swollen (the long bone) double size than his right foot. I dont know if he needs antibiotics. This happened after i noticed that his back toe is getting stuck in his leg. So i cut it a little not affecting any harm. Please if u can provide advice

I am sorry Bahloul is not feeling well. Unfortunately for Bahloul there is no easy fix to her leg. I would recommend taking her to a vet as soon as possible to be evaluated. I am concerned about viral disease, infectious disease but also her kidney function. She most likely needs some blood work and possibly an x-ray to determine the cause of her leg swelling. I hope Bahloul feels better soon
