My dog was lethargic and limping, now has a strange cough. What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | 2 years and 9 months old | 65 lbs

Hello - For about 24 to 36 hours (this past Friday and Saturday), my 4 year old, 65 lb terrier mix was relatively lethargic, would eat (but not full meal), and would drink fully. She also appeared she may have had a slight rear limp. This all went away Saturday night and she's been fully active and eating since. Early this morning (3 AM), she (Dakota) started a coughing fit that I've never heard before. She did this a few more times, but eating and acting normal. Any ideas?

I am sorry Dakota has not been feeling well. Since she has had so much going on with the being lethargic, limping and now coughing I would recommend taking her to a vet for a good physical exam. Some does will cough secondary to heartworm disease, heart disease, asthma/allergies, infection and even fungal disease. Since she is feeling well hopefully nothing serious is going on but a vet visit would be best to be 100% sure. The vet can listen to her lungs and take x-rays if needed to determine the cause of the cough. I hope Dakota feels better soon and thanks for using pet coach
