Will airlines allow my dog to fly if he has a torn ACL or bad leg?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | 3 years and 7 months old | 20 lbs

My dog got ran over by a car yesterday and he tore his ACL, surgery cost over 3000. We’re trying to fly him to another country where my uncle is a vet and he would cover the cost. Would an airline let me fly with him even if his leg is bad?

Yes the airline would allow you to fly him as long as his leg doesn't have any external wounds that aren't being properly treated or any other injuries that would deem him unstable to fly. A CCL rupture isn't an injury that would make him ineligible to fly. Best wishes with the surgery for Isco and I hope he gets well soon. Best wishes and take care.
