My new dog lives with its old owner. How do I train it to listen?

So my girlfriends mom gave me there dog to take care of instead of them getting rid of her. But we also live in the same house. So how do I train her to listen to me over her old master when we're living in the same house. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 1 month old | 60 lbs

I would recommend taking Maybell to training classes and working with her outside of the house first. Once she knows you are in charge it should carry over into the house as well. I would highly recommend getting her spayed too. Getting her spayed is better for her general health but sometimes can help with behavioral issues as well.
