I would check online at local pet sites online, Facebook, or check local cat rescues. Keep in mind that unless the kitten has been seen by a vet, you don't have a guarantee it is healthy. I hope you find one soon :-)

You can find people giving them away for free on places like Craigslist. However, these cats may or may not be healthy and will need some level of basic veterinary care (vaccines, spay/neuter and deworming), which can be $300 or more. The most cost-effective option for getting a cat is through a reputable, local shelter (i.e. SPCA, Humane Society, etc.). They will charge an adoption fee (about $100- $150), but you will be getting a cat that has been checked by a veterinarian, vaccinated, spay/neutered, dewormed and other treatment or testing as necessary. I found a baby cat in my backyard, I would like to keep it but want to know what steps should I take before bringing it in my home

I would recommend taking the kitten in to be seen by a veterinarian for a health check exam to make sure vitals and everything else is ok before taking the kitten in. I would want to make sure the kitten is flea and tick free and make sure the exam is normal. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Hello. I am buying a cat for the first time. What should I be checking in the cat before buying it?
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Since this is a pure bred cat check for pedigree papers. Check to see if the cattery is feline leukemia and FIV free. Check about any kittens/cats dying from Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). Which vaccinations has it had and has she been dewormed. Has she had kittens before. Has she lived in a cage her whole life or was she free in the house, does she use the litter box (HUGE issue). Then check for sneezing, coughing, eye or nose discharge (as she is a Persian). The only way would be to take her to a vet and have her scanned for a microchip which then could be traced and then one may be able to find the owners and ask them. I would not rely on that and take her to a vet for an exam, and have her vaccinated properly. The fact that she is starting to look better after regular feeding is a good sign. She may need to be wormed also and treated for fleas. Congratulations! You have a kitty now. It picked you! Thank you for taking care of her.

hopw do i buy a cat online please
You can buy a cat from Craig's list for example, but I do not recommend buying a cat sight unseen. I never recommend that. You should always check out the home where it's coming from, you can assess it's condition, and seeing the cat makes sure you are getting the animal you have paid for. In addition, there are no websites where you can just buy a cat and have it shipped to you. I hope this helps.

Hi and thanks for your post on Boop by Petco! This is a hard question as different breeders or shelters have different prices. Although I am not aware with what is available specifically in India, you may try a local shelter or a British shorthair breeders near you. I'm not sure if there are websites in India to help you find pets, but here in America we have a website called Petfinder to help people find adoptable pets. www.petfinder.com. Perhaps there is a website in India that is similar! I hope you find your British Shorthair soon!

I would contact veterinary clinics and bring the missing posters to veterinary clinics as well so that you can make it known to the many pet owners that frequent the clinics in the area. This may help you find your kitten. Unfortunately, it is also possible that someone found your kitten and thinks it is a stray and may keep it. I am sorry that you have lost your kitten and hope that you find it soon!

Hi! There is a specific cat breed I’m looking for. Siamese and Lynx Point Siamese. Any idea if there is a shelter that has them?
You would need to contact a shelter near you, or try and find a local rescue. There are many breed specific rescues out there, so doing a google search for the specific breed or coloration you want may turn up some results. Many of these rescues are willing to ship or drive pets if they are not currently in your area.

You may want to call around . I’m our area many practices will do a new pet exam at no fee, then you can schedule for vaccines and such for next week. If you don’t plan to keep the kitty you can take to the humane society or animal control. If the kitten seems bright and alert and healthy then waiting a week for an exam and vaccines is probably ok as well. Regardless you should have her scanned for a microchip as she may be lost and her family may be looking for her. Any veterinary hospital can do this at no charge. Hello i am 12 years old and i am about to get a kitten for the ferst time, that I have to take care of this kitten was a stray and was left by the mother to be eaten by the racoons i would like any advice that culd be helpful plaese. Thank you!
It would be helpful to know how old your kitten might be - if it is very young the feeding and care are very different when compared to an older kitten that has already been weaned. I would recommend taking it to a veterinarian promptly to establish care and to make sure there aren't any health concerns since it was a stray kitten.
