Hi there! I brought home my first guinea pig today - a couple month old boy named Tucker. It seems like he is adjusting well to his new home, but when I've held him (an hour earlier today, then about an hour several hours later) he occasionally makes these little huffing noises. They sound somewhere between a sneeze and a sigh...is this normal? Is he sick? Should I be taking him back to the pet store and having their vet check him?

Guinea pigs are very vocal creatures, but it will take some time for you to learn what are normal noises and what are not. I would error on the side of caution and have him looked at. Most places have a several day health guarantee, but you will have to see what your individual store will do for you. I hope he's back to his new home in no time!
