My 7-month-old puppy chews walls at night. Will more exercise help?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 25 days old

My dog chews the wall at night. I think this is because he's bored or because he misses having someone with him. Can I exercise him more to tire him out? He's almost 7 months old

It would be a great idea to exercise Ziggy at least twice a day. Try taking him on a fast-paced walk for 20 to 30 minutes at a time. It may also be beneficial to do it right before bedtime so he's a little more worn out. You may also want to consider getting a crate for Ziggy at night. This will keep him from chewing up your walls and prevent him from getting into anything that could be potential he dangerous for him.
