My dog has yellow eye discharge and keeps pawing it. What's wrong?

So my dog (6 month old Boxer mix) has a lot of yellow discharge out of his left eye. He has been pawing at it. This has been happening for 3 days now.I'm wiping the discharge every 15-20 minutes. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 6 months and 29 days old | 54 lbs
