What are these bleeding, painful growths on my dog's legs and paws?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Female | spayed | 1 year and 8 months old | 50 lbs

My 1 year old female boxer has developed a bunch of growths on her hind legs and paws over the past 3 weeks. There are about 6 or 7 of them now and I know they bother her because she limps at times and if I try to look at her legs she freaks out and tries to get away from me. They also bleed sometimes. What could this be? I have never noticed any lumps on her before this. She was at the vet about a week before this happened for her vaccinations.

Poor Rosie- those look uncomfortable. Many different things could cause sores like this. The least concerning would be bug bites, but also fungal infections, allergies with self trauma, or even something as concerning as cancer could be the cause. If they are not resolving they should be evaluated and possibly biopsied to help determine the problem and the best course of treatment. I hope she improves soon!
