My Yorkie has high bile acids with no symptoms. What's the next step?

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | 3.5 lbs

Our 11 month old Yorkie shows bile acids postprandial,, of 46.4. Normal range is 14.9. She is 3.5 pounds. Shows no symptoms of having an issue with this. Should further testing be done or should we watch for symptoms and continue to monitor

Hi and thanks for your post. A Bile Acids of 46 is not terribly alarming but should be addressed. Elevations over 100 would be more concerning. I would recommend monitoring Bitzy and rechecking her bile acid levels in a several weeks. A Rx diet may help as well as an ultrasound guided fine needle aspirate can help in diagnosis.
