My dog is still crying after ear surgery. Are her painkillers enough?

Pet's info: Dog | Staffordshire Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 21 lbs

My dog had a burst blood vessel in her ear the vets out hole in it and then a plastic pipe to drain it for a week she's got pain killers but she just keeps crying is there any thing I can do I've not slept since 7am yesturday morning with the crying she's doing I've gave her pain killers feed watered her and took her walk and stroked her for hours

Poor Stella! I am sorry to hear about her issue! I would call her vet and let her know that the pain killers she is taking are not sufficient. They may want to prescribe additional pain killers or a sedative/anti anxiety drug for night time if they feel she is anxious due to the issue. We do sometimes prescribe several different kinds of pain medications for some dogs (i.e. an NSAID like Carprofen or Rimadyl in addition to a drug like Gabapentin or Tramadol). I am sorry she seems to be in such discomfort, that is hard to see!
