Pet's info: Dog | Australian Cattle Dog | Female | spayed | 6 years and 3 months old
I know the profile says blue heeler, but red heeler wasn't an option. So, my problem is my five year old red heeler has really bad anxiety. She is always licking you, tearing up my puppy's toys, is getting very territorial when the other dogs walk into my bedroom, won't sleep, and doesn't play. She's bothering the rest of the family, and I'd hate to put her in the shelter, because she's so anxious that I don't think anyone would want her. Is there anything I could do to calm her down?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! She is adorable! Red heelers can be very energetic and challenging at times in terms of behavior. I highly recommend you seek help from a dog trainer or behaviorist as these behaviors can be modified. It just requires the right training. There are behavior modification medications your veterinarian could prescribe though in most cases are unnecessary as training is all that is needed. Sometimes both training and medications are combined. Good luck and have a good evening!
