Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Bulldog | Female | 35 lbs

I had my dog on epoquel for her itches...she just ran out but unfortunately so did my vet...is there anything else I can give my dog as effective or close to, that will hold her over until I get a refill from the vet?

I am sorry to hear about M.J. ! You will want to discuss with your vet what options they might recommend for MJ as they know her case and health history/current medications. If she has severe itching problems they may prescribe a steroid such as prednisone or a drug called Temaril-P which is a combination of an antihistamine and steroid. They may feel that an antihistamine such as cetirizine (zyrtec) or hydroxyzine or diphenhydramine will be enough to control the itch until the Apoquel gets back in stock.
