Dog hit mouth, lip cut, not eating. Is his current pain relief enough?

Pet's info: Dog | Border Collie | Male | 3 years and 3 months old

Today trick caught a stick that hit his mouth and grazed his lip slightly he is subdued and dribbling not keen on eating he was checked out could not feel or see anything he can move OK he gets metacam daily for back and hip pain does he need more pain relief or just wait and see if things improve.

The metacam should be sufficient for pain control for a small scratch or laceration on or in Trick's mouth. You could try applying some antibiotic ointment on the cut but he may just lick it off. It may also be helpful to feed him canned food or moisten his kibble with some warm water to make it easier to eat. If the area is still bothering Trick in 2-3 days you may want to consider taking him in to the vet to be checked out. I hope this helps.     Thanks posting this question. When you say dribbling I assume you mean saliva? I would look in and around the mouth for any hidden trauma. If an area is swollen you can wrap a bag of ice in a kitchen towel and ice pack the area for 10 minutes several times this evening. If he still isn't improving by tomorrow I would have him examined by his veterinarian. I hope Trick improves soon!
