Outdoor cat has a back wound. Can I treat it at home without a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 9 years and 3 months old

My cat has I'm assuming been bitten on the back, is there anything I can use at home instead of a vets visit? Iv been given hibiscrub to clean it with, he is licking the wound but he's an outdoor cat so the collars not a great option.

It does look like Theo has a wound there, and may already look like its infected. I think it will likely heal a lot faster if you can get him into the vet so he can get cleaned up and have some antibiotics. Good luck!
