My husky puppy has different pupil sizes. Should I be worried?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Husky | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 29 days old | 20 lbs

Four month old husky, just got back from puppy training as she played with other dogs. Noticed RIght pupil is smaller than left. Both reactive to light. No weakness noted to one side. There was a very significant different between sizes , it seems to slowly be resolving but there is now a slight difference in pupil size. Should I be worried if this gets worse or goes back to how it was before as one was much bigger than the other.

Hi there! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could have been due to some degree of mild trauma. If she is otherwise doing well, and the size of the pupils normalize in the next 24-48 hours, then she is likely to be just fine. If no improvement is noted or she worsens, then have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck with your girl!
