Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 3 years and 5 months old | 18 lbs

3 yr old Schnauzer Dachshund mix and had puppy pustules when 3 mos old, now has one pus filled blister on her abdomen and one scab spot. Current on all shots and treated monthly for flea & tick. She is Groomed monthly and we noticed these yesterday after her grooming appt. Do I drain? Treat with peroxide? Get her into her vet? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If there are no other signs of infection or discomfort such as scratching or biting at it, you may just drain it with your fingers and then clean the area with soapy water. If if fills up again, or she develops others, have her evaluated by your veterinarian for more thorough treatment most likely including systemic antibiotics. She is precious by the way! Have a good night!
