Is my dog's nose histiocytoma healing? Signs of improvement?

Yes, this could be a histiocytoma but it is very hard to say for sure. Many masses can look the same to the naked eye. Histiocytomas are more likely to occur in younger dogs; since he is older I would a bit more concerned. I suggest you leave it alone for now and just monitor it. If it is a histiocytoma it should go away on it's own. If it does not go away in about 6-8 weeks OR it starts to bother him or get larger, then have your vet check it by doing a fine needle aspirate (they will get some cells with a needle and look at them under the microscope to see what this is). Hello. If the lesion is a histiocytoma, it will regress & disappear on its own, often in 1-3 months. You can use the Vetericyn 2-3 times daily, but stop if it causes any undue irritation, or causes Minnie to lick the tumor. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Thanks for the pictures! My hope, since Sophie is young, that the bump is a histiocytoma. These are benign bumps that are button-like, red, and hairless that can be seen in young dogs. They usually go away on their one in 2-3 months. Sometimes they ulcerate as they regress. If it gets larger, starts bothering Sophie or doesn’t go away in 2-3 months then you should have Sophie looked at by a Vet. Based on Tua's young age, I would assume if it was a mass it would be benign. A common benign pink, hairless growth in dogs is a histiocytoma. They usually spontaneously regress with in 1-3 months. Another possibility is a mast cell tumor which is a cancerous skin growth. Since is continuing to grow and changing I recommend you have your Vet take a look. They can discuss options for diagnosis. If not associated with itchiness or discomfort, this is unlikely to require any therapy at all.
