Pet's info: Dog | Greyhound | Male | neutered | 70 lbs
I have a greyhound, taking care of for a friend who broke her leg. He is a stressful boy and has an ulcer,(not sure what type) He was throwing up blood when they brought him to me. Today I have managed to get his meds in, and tblsp of food every 2-3 hours. Feeding royal canin gast.canned food. at this time. I would like to know what type of diet he needs on a regular basis to help heal his ulcer and to maybe keep it from acting up.

Hi there! Sounds like Star Trek has some pretty concerning problems going on. I assume from the question that he has been diagnosed with a stomach ulcer. Royal Canin gastrointestinal diet is a good guality, bland, and easily digestible diet that he may benefit from long term. Many patients with gastrointestinal problems benefit from eating these bland diets life long. I would encourage you to visit with his veterinarian for a discussion about long term management. Often, follow up examinations and further testing (like fecal exams for parasites, endoscopy, or even biopsies) are needed to develop the best long term plan. I hope he continues to improve.
