My puppy has Parvo. What's the survival rate when caught early?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Josie, my 13 week old Labrador retriever was just diagnosed with Parvo last night. within 2 days of her showing symptoms of being sick we took her into an emergency pet hospital. before we took her she was drinking water but not eating (no fever or bloody stools). The vet said we caught it in the early stages and that will help her survival rate. can you tell me what her survival rate would be since we got her in so quick? thank you!

I am sorry to hear that Josie is sick! But happy you have her under veterinary care. Luckily with aggressive treatment puppies usually have an 80-90% survival rate with this disease. We don't have a breakdown of statistics of survival rates with puppies showing differing symptoms (those having vomiting vs. those not) but in general, the less ill a puppy is the more likely the chance of survival and also a faster recovery/shorter hospital stay. It sounds like you caught your pup early and she is in good hands.
