My cat pulled hair from tail, now has a cut. What to do before vet?

Question

My cat somehow manged to pull a bit of hair out of the side of his tail. I got a good look and the cut is about 12 cm long. He does not seem too bothered by it but are there anything I should do? we also are going to the vets on the weekend. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 years and 1 month old | 15 lbs

You can keep the cut clean with 3% hydrogen peroxide and using a cone around his head to prevent him from licking or bothering the cut further.
