My puppy has tiny white hard pellets in her stool. Is it worms?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 28 days old | 25 lbs

3 1/2 month old German Shepherd female, her stool has tiny white pellets. However, they are not as large as a grain of rice as I have seen before, they are more like a very tiny pebble, they are hard, and do not move at all. I am not sure if it is just from her eating dirt and sand sometimes, or maybe chips from a bone or antler that she chews on, or some other kind of parasite that I have not seen before.

Thank you for providing a picture, I do see the small white pellets you are describing. To be on the safe side, if it has been over 3-4 months since your last worming treatment, you could consider treating Khaleesi again. It could be that we are seeing immature or dead worms being passed, Here is a broad spectrum worming treatment that can be used; http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=35694
