My 37lb dog got underdosed with dewormer. Is he okay, what to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 6 months old | 37 lbs

i gave my beagle the 8 in 1 dewormer but it was for a 20 lb dog he weighs 37 lbs.

I am sorry I misread your question during my initial answer. If your pet received less than the dosage needed, then you would simply need to redose him another equal dose for a 20 lb dog and he will then get his accurate amount of dewormer. Typically dewormers are dosed in mg's, so if you look at the mg dosage for the weight range he should have had, it should be close to double the mg dosage for a 20 lb dog. I hope this helps!     I would suggest monitoring him for upset stomach symptoms, which is the typical result of getting an overdose of dewormer medication. Typically dewormers are tolerated well when given in excess and don't cause any major toxicity concerns in dogs. You can also offer Morty a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese to help settle his stomach if needed. By the off chance he doesn't seem to recover after 24 hrs then it's best to visit your vet for further care. I hope everything turns out well for Morty. Best wishes and take care.
