How often should I bathe my dirty puppy & improve his dull coat?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 10 days old | 38 lbs

My rottwieller is of 12 week and i also have a german shepherd of 18 weeks they both usually stays and plays together but my rottwieller usually gets dirty and he also have a fade shade of hairs so i want to know how much days gap should be there in his bathing time. And what should i do to improve his hair shade ots appears very dull.

You definitely don't want to bath Tison too often because that can strip his skin of it's natural oils and dry it out. Typically it's not recommended to bath them more than once a month, but you can do more if he's very dirty. Brush out the dirt to avoid a bath, but he should not be bathed more than once a week. As for his coat appearing dull, that can be due to diet so make sure that he is fed a high quality puppy formulated food such as Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, or Iams. His coat appearance can also be due to intestinal worms, so make sure both puppies are up to date on their deworming treatments. I hope this helps!

Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Puppies tend to get into things and get dirty when eating or outside. I would advise spot bathing any areas that need immediate attention, but I would space out bathing as much as possible. Too frequent bathing can dry out the skin and haircoat and cause other problems. I advise getting an oatmeal shampoo without soap or detergent for maintenance bathing. Leave the lather on for 10 minutes and rinse really well. Dried shampoo on the skin and haircoat can be very irritating. I would try to space out the baths to every 4 or more weeks. You could use waterless shampoo or some bath wipes in between bathing. Good luck

How often are we supposed to wash a puppy and how often do we wash a dog? I have a long coat german shepherd puppy who is 8 weeks old at the moment.
No more frequently than every 6-8 weeks. You can use pet wipes (or unscented, sensitive skin baby wipes) to spot clean as needed. If you need to bathe your pup now, use warm water and dry thoroughly to prevent chill.

How often can I bathe my little puppy?
Congratulations on your new puppy! My best opinion would be the less you bathe Twix the better. Twix has natural oils secreted by his skin that help ensure a healthy coat of fur. The more these oils are washed away, the drier his skin and coat will be. I would not bathe him more then once a month if you can manage it. Obviously puppies can be dirty little creatures, so of course if you have to do so more often he will be fine. However, his best skin and coat health would be from infrequent baths. If you want to bathe her, I recommend no more than once every 2 weeks, using a puppy-safe shampoo and taking care not to get soap in her eyes. I hope this is helpful!

My puppy turned 6 weeks on Friday her name is diamond and she's a pompek I bathe her yesterday and blow dry her fur...today my mom find her fur looks dry and it's normally slicky what should I do?
Bathing can strip the coat of its natural oils, so it is best to make sure you are using a shampoo designed for puppies, or one that has aloe or oatmeal in it that can help soothe the skin after a bath. Making sure not to bathe too often, and using pet or baby wipes in between baths can help keep the coat clean without removing the healthy oils from the skin. A complete and balanced puppy food can also help with dry skin. If you see any itching or redness, or the skin continues to be irritated, having a vet look is always a good idea.

Hi! Bathing is good to do for Honey about once a week, using a gentle shampoo for dogs. Excessive bathing can dry out Honey's skin, getting rid of natural oils that make their coat soft and healthy which may cause more harm than good. What food could be the best to keep my dogs coat healthy and shining? food wise, shampoo wise, anything? please let me know.
In general, using a high quality brand is the best way to assure that Bear Bear's coat is healthy. Brands that I typically recommend include Science Diet, Purina ProPlan and Royal Canin because these companies conduct extensive clinical studies and analyses regarding their foods and source ingredients appropriately. Continue feeding Bear Bear puppy food until he is 1 year old, then gradually transition to an adult dog food. Anytime you make a diet change, be sure to do so by gradually mixing old and new foods together over 5-7 days. Bathing every 2-4 weeks in a gentle oatmeal based dog shampoo can also be beneficial. If he seems to have dry skin, an omega 3 fatty acid supplement (such as Welactin) can be beneficial. Also, make sure that he is receiving a high quality flea and tick preventative (such as Nexgard, Bravecto or Advantix) regularly.

I am giving royal canin maxi starter and royal canin puppy milk to my dante. I am observing dryness on his coat. I gave him a bath few days back due to his dirtyness with a mild shampoo but not designed for puppies. Please advise me what should i do?
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Dante. He is in a great diet. I recommend using a shampoo and cream rinse approved for use in puppies only as puppies have sensitive skin. A fatty acid or oatmeal based formula is most moisturizing. If his coat quality does not improve though, he will need to see a veterinarian. I hope this information helps!
