Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | 1 year and 5 months old

Hello, I have a German Shepherd who is 1.5 y/o. Since the past few couple of days, he's been showing serious weakness. He won't eat anything except curd. He has a swelling in his front right leg. It was just this much, but since today morning, (it's 2:25 pm right now) he's been excessively week, my dog is even unable to stand properly. And he's been panting excessively hard and fast. I don't know what is wrong. Please help me.

Hi and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I am sorry Dollar is unwell and hope to give you some direction for how he feels. There are multiple causes for leg swelling and lameness. These can range from injury to limb, tick borne disease, HOD (a disease where the bone "grows too fast"), injury to the soft tissue structures of the limb (ie tendons), wound on the limb, immune-mediated diseases or even an abnormality with the bone or cartilage. His panting could be from discomfort or pain. I am concerned that this is progressive. Unfortunately there are not any over the counter medications that can help without potentially causing damage to other parts of his body. As this has not resolved and is progressive your local veterinarian may be able to do a complete physical exam and localize the area of concern and recommend x-rays. Good luck with Dollar!
