Why is my dog's leg still swollen over a week after a bee sting?

My dog recently was stung by a bee/wasp on his leg and it has been swollen for just over a week now, I gave it time because I thought it would go away but it's still swollen. He doesn't seem to have any pain from it but it is pretty swollen. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 14 years and 8 months old | 21 lbs

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Swelling after a bee/wasp sting shouldn't last more than about 24 hours. If this is still swollen then I would be worried about infection/inflammation secondary to the sting, or a problem unrelated to the sting. I would recommend having Kodie seen by your vet and they will do a physical exam, and will check his lymph nodes and likely will want to take some x-rays of that limb. With his age we have to worry about a possible cancer causing the swelling. I would recommend a visit with the vet as soon as possible. Best of luck with Kodie.
