Parvo can live in the yard for a very long time. Your safest bet is to adopt an adult dog that is fully vaccinated. Your next best option is to adopt a puppy that is at least 16 weeks old and has completed their puppy vaccination series. A puppy is not really considered fully protected until they have had the full series of vaccination. Here is more information on Parvo in the environment. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&C=&A=579&SourceID= I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.
