My 12-year-old cat is losing weight but acting normal. Is this okay?

Hi! My cat is 12 and she's lost a lot of weight in the past 6 months. She's acting normal, eats and poops as she always has. She's always been thin but now, i can feel her bones, especially in her "butt" and cheeks. Is this normal?

No, it is not normal for her to be losing weight and for you to be able to feel her bones. She could be hyperthyroid so she should be examined by a vet for a thyroid test. It is a common disease in older cats and causes weight loss. Your vet can prescribe a medication to treat, if she has an elevated thyroid level.
