My cat's back leg was hurt, but he's not in pain. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hi. We suspect our cat might have a torn tendon on the inner part of his right back leg. This might have happened 2 days ago. Photos attached. He appeared in pain yesterday but not today. He even jumps and walks normally. He doesn't seem to struggle with any movement. Do you think we should take him to a vet hospital still?

Please keep this area clean so the skin will heal. I use hydrogen peroxide as it doesn't sting. You can then apply a thin film of antibacterial ointment on it. Luckily cats heal very well so as long as he is moving normally, is not in pain and the area doesn't get infected you do not need to him take him in. If he stops eating or the wound becomes infected or smells or he stops using the leg then take him in for an exam.
