My dog holds it! How to train an indoor-potty dog to go outside?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | spayed | 4 months and 21 days old | 54.3 lbs

Nova is indoor potty trained, since she is fully vaccinated now and it's cooler outside I am trying to potty train her outside. But she won't do! She will hold it till she gets home. I made her walk 2 hours and still she didn't poo but once we were home she rushed to her spot. How do I tell train her? She is otherwise very fast learner and learnt to use pad like in a day. She learnt all her commands super fast too. Its just this she doesn't want to learn

When she goes in the pad, move the BM outside and show her where you put it and have sniff thebarea to associate the two things. You can also start moving the pad closer to the door each day and eventually move the pad outside completely until she gets used to going outdoors for that
