My dog is sick, coughing, and getting worse. When should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 2 years old | 18 lbs

She is very hot I think she has a fever and would like to know what we can give her and she has been coughing and sneezing a lot they gave us a liquid medicine for her but to me its seems like she is getting worse

A dogs normal body temp is 101-102.5 so they will feel warm to us normally. You can use a rectal thermometer if you want to assess her temperature. If you feel she is worsening despite medication I recommend a veterinary visit. Do not give any human fever reducers as they are toxic to dogs. If she had kennel cough or an upper respiratory infection it can occasionally progress to pneumonia so Augustine needs a recheck with a vet if she is not improving I hope Augustine feels better soon.
