My indoor cats have bald spots. Is this normal or concerning?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | 2 years and 4 months old | 14.4 lbs

Is this bald spot something I should be concerned about? I haven't noticed any excessive licking at the spot and they are ok with me touching it. It's appeared on both cats at different times. My cats are indoor only cats.

I can't 100% tell where that bald spot is located but it looks like it is just a nipple. It's normal to have thinner or no hair surrounding a nipple so if that is on the belly I wouldn't be concerned. As long as it remains a normal color and is not irritating Dylan or Jackson I would not be concerned. Certainly monitor for changes and bring them to see your veterinarian if you become concerned.
