My 3-year-old Akita has swollen front legs. What could it be?

My 3 yr. old female Akita may possibly have a fungal or bacterial infection. Vet not sure what it is. She has swelling in front legs. What could it be

Swelling of the legs can be infectious in nature most definitely. Other possibilities are heart condition that has lead to edema, masses along the soft tissue that won't allow proper drainage of fluid through the capillaries, etc. However you still have to consider a lot of factors including core body temperature, bloodwork if findings and physical examination findings to make that determination m. If the vet cannot figure things out then perhaps some empirical treatment (treating the symptoms) can still help matters. Or even a referral to an internal medicine specialist may be needed to best help stabilize Jades condition. I would be happy to discuss the details of your pets case more through consultation if needed, as this sounds like a rather involved case.
