Why does my cat suck blankets before sleep? Is it unhealthy?

Hello!My cat has this strange habit,when he is willing to sleep he tends to suck the blanket!Why he keeps doing that?Is it bad for his health?thankyou

I see that Kiki is still a young kitten. This behavior is thought to be a carryover from nursing, especially if the kitten is taken from him mother too soon. Many cats tend to outgrow the behavior by the time they are a year old. It's not bad for his health, and he should hopefully outgrow it.

    This is a relatively common behavior in kittens - it's a self-soothing behavior that is similar to nursing on their mother. It's a lot like a baby or toddler sucking their thumb, or sucking on a pacifier. As long as he's not chewing off pieces of the blanket and swallowing them, there is no problem at all with him doing this.
