Why is my 6-month-old puppy throwing up pink foam with red specks?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | neutered | 6 months and 25 days old | 7.5 lbs

My dog has been vomiting pink foam with red bloody specks for the last hour or so and it's turning to white. He's thrown up four more times now and it's been just white. Any ideas as to what this could be? He's 6 months old, UTD on vaccines, had a heart murmur as a puppy that went away.

He might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this. withhold food for 12 hours then offer Echo boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.
