My cat's nose and ears are pale and cold. Is he sick? What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

May cat's nose and ears seem to look pale than the normal pinkish color and ears are cold to touch. I checked his gums and tongue and it looks pinkish. He had loss of appetite, vomiting and diarrhea for two days but he's now eating small amount of boiled chicken meat. I also gave him dextrose powder and anti diarrhea suspension. What could be the problem of pale colored nose and ears? Thanks in advance! :)

Pale nose and ears in a cat can be a sign of anemia (low red blood cell count), shock, or dehydration. The pale color happens because of poor circulation to the extremeties, which can be caused by any of the conditions I mentioned. If possible, I would recommend having your kitty examined by a vet since some of these issues can be serious - your vet can do some basic blood work to help determine what's wrong.
