My dog cries when I pick him up. Is it pain in his arm or leg?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 10 months old | 8 lbs

when i go to pick up chico he yelps or lets out a cry not all the time though i think it has something to do with his arm help!?

It may be because you are picking him up incorrectly or it could be due to an orthopedic issue. When you pick him up, place a hand behind his back legs on his rump and the other hand under his chest. He should not be picked up by the scruff or by a limb. Front limb pain may be due to elbow, shoulder or neck issues. Hind limb pain can be hips, knees or lower back. If the pain persists, have Chico examined and xrayed by your veterinarian to diagnose the cause.
