the corner of my cat's mouth is crusty. he's had rodent ulcer before but it's always been on his lip right under his nose and it usually heals in a few days. i've never seen this before on the corner of his mouth.

He could have an ulcer in a different location, infection, or stomatitis. You could clean the crusty discharge away and monitor but if it continues, he stops eating, or becomes lethargic than he should be examined by a vet. Your vet can do an oral examination to check for lesions, infection, or inflammation in his mouth.
