My kitten has mites. Can they transfer to me? Will Lysol help?

My sister just got a kitten and he has mites. I was holding him a lot last night and now I'm scared they've been transferred to me. I sprayed everything down with Lysol spray in hope that would help kill them off. Would this help kill them or do we have to do something else in order to make sure they're gone?

Sarcoptes scabei mites can infect people and if you are infected disinfectant alone will not take care of the problem. If Gandalf was diagnosed with this type of mite you should talk to your physician. Demodex mites are not transmitted to people.
