My male dog has a sore spot on his penis. How to prevent infection?

My chorkie pup is 18 months old. His willy looks alittle sore with a tiny sized cut. What can i use on it to make sure it heals with no infection? It's only small but i dont want it to get worse. He's absolutely fine in himself. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 7 months old | 3 lbs

Place an e-collar (cone) on Dexter to prevent licking. He may be doing it when you are not looking. That may be enough to allow the spot to heal. Anything topical may get licked or rubbed off. Monitor for redness, discharge, lethargy or difficulty urinating. See your vet if these symptoms develop or if the wound does not heal.
