My dog has minor signs of frostbite only alittle patch here and there. He wont let me touch them but when i do i put ointment on the affected areas. My question is...how long will it take for the spots to heal and is it ok to let him walk outside to go to the bathroom the next day

Poor dog. Frostbitten areas on the skin have to debrided (removal of dead tissue) under a light sedative trough your veterinarian, or the frostbite areas can cause necrosis (dying off) of the surrounding tissue as well. This is not something that will heal on its own, nor can it be successfully treated at home. Antibiotics will also be needed to help prevent infection. I am sorry but Pudge will have to be seen to properly treat these wounds. Please take him in asap.
